Steel Drill Bit (For Loose Starter) Self Drilling Anchor (SDA)
HARDENED STEEL SACRIFICIAL DRILL BIT - FOR LOOSE STARTER GROUND

Steel Drill Bit (For Loose Starter)

The Hardened Steel Sacrificial Drill Bit is an economical, high-efficiency cutting tool engineered specifically for initiating collar holes and drilling through soft, loose, or cohesive starter overburden formations such as silt, loose sand, soft clay, and weathered gravel. Designed to thread directly onto Self Drilling Anchor (SDA) hollow bars, this all-steel bit features high-flow fluid ports to enable aggressive mud or water flushing while stabilizing collapsible ground in the critical initial meters of drilling.

Loose Starter Ground Optimization
Engineered for rapid collar penetration in soft overburden, clay, loose gravel, and backfill formations.
Cost-Effective Sacrificial Design
High-yield all-steel construction provides an economical solution where tungsten carbide is not required.
High-Velocity Annular Flushing
Enlarged central and peripheral flush ports prevent clay clogging and cuttings accumulation during drilling.
ISO 10208 Direct Threading
Direct thread mounting to R25, R32, R38, and R51 hollow bars without special adapters.

Steel Drill Bits for Overburden Starter Applications

View Catalog PDF
In geotechnical installations, the first 1 to 3 meters frequently consist of uncompacted topsoil, fill, or loose gravel where hard rock carbide buttons are unnecessary and prone to excessive wear from loose abrasive sands. The Sigricare all-steel starter drill bit provides sharp, aggressive shearing action in soft strata, ensuring accurate collar positioning and smooth advancement before encountering hard rock horizons.
